5 SUSTAINABLE DISPLAY CAMPAIGNS

We're passionate about leaving our impact on customers, not on the planet. This year we have seen a big focus on Sustainability, from both brands and consumers alike.

Cop26 sounded a warning bell about how as individuals and businesses we are putting increasing amounts of pressure on our planet and its precious ecosystems. The time for change is now and acting together as businesses, suppliers and customers is essential to deliver a more sustainable future.

By partnering with businesses who share our mission of achieving the highest sustainability and ethical standards, we are shifting our focus and able to put sustainability front and centre as one of our key agendas. As a leading brand in visual communications, The Service Graphics Display Division has a unique opportunity to engage and connect with all our key stakeholders and customers with a number of key sustainability actions already in play.

With innovations in recycling technology, we're making it easier than ever to create an environmentally friendly display campaign without compromising on experience and quality.

In this article, we're rounding up 5 of our recent sustainable display projects to inspire your next campaign.

Waste Age Museum

The Waste Age Museum showcases some of the visionary designers who are reinventing our relationship with waste. We were part of the design & implementation of sustainable display solutions.

The exhibit was designed around sustainability and the project was completely plastic free.

Bubble board panels used in various applications here are 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

We focused on reducing the carbon footprint of the materials and printed at local sites and at the museum itself.

FA Cup

We teamed up with Veolia, The FA, and Wembley Stadium to create a recycled plastic banner at the Emirates FA Cup Final.

The banner itself was produced from waste from previous events at Wembley, with Veolia sorting 47,600 bottles.

This was recycled into PET plastic yarn, and spun into the material we used for producing the 68 meter wide banner.

The story continues, with Veolia upcycling the banner into drawstring bags and sports bibs that The FA are donating to the local community to inspire the footballers of the future.

We're proud to be a part of...

? saving 70% of carbon emissions (1.5 tonnes!)

? contributing to local communities

♻️ creating a circular economy

Maritime Museum

Following a theme of sustainability and reducing waste, the brief was to deliver a fully sustainable and eco-friendly display for the retail space in the National Maritime Museum.

We produced large branded eco-boards and the freestanding seaweeds and kelp cut-outs alongside elements for the product display.

The product is made from 100% recycled card, is 100% recyclable after use and is also 100% biodegradable.

LUSH

Lush worked with Service Graphics to transform the window spaces at their flagship stores. The “Wash your hands for free” campaign launched ahead of the CV19 lockdown measures with in-store and window installations aligning to social media and website activities.

All materials used had to be sustainable and recyclable in line with Lush’s values and sustainability policies.

Lush had previously steered away from window graphics as the available materials did not meet their sustainability targets. With the launch of Service Graphics eco range of PVC free products that includes a PVC-free window vinyl, the Lush team are exploring options for other sustainable in-store collateral.

VM & Display

We created an almost ZERO waste exhibition stand. Events & exhibitions are known for being extremely wasteful, alongside our sister company Human Built and sustainability body isla, we want to change this.

Using a completely re-configurable exhibition stand system alongside recyclable PVC-free graphics, we made an impact at the VM & Display show this year. We had two main talking points on the stand, a large living moss wall and a 2 meter cardboard tree centrepiece - demonstrating how far cardboard engineering can go.

The living wall now lives at the Octink office, ready to be re-used for other purposes.

All graphics are recycled and recyclable.

Flooring and stand fittings are being re-used

What's in our sustainable range?

At Service Graphics we are committed to working in partnership with our clients to reduce damage to the environment caused by waste production. It is because of this commitment and understanding that we have invested in finding eco-friendly alternatives to both our printing processes and materials used.

Help safeguard the environment wherever your brand is visually communicated

We’re looking to help businesses migrate their print requirements to environmental best practice.

The audit is simple . . . we will work through what you currently use and suggest a new sustainable alternative. We will discuss not only materials but ways to recycle post use.

A simple 3 step process..

1. An audit of current materials used

2. Creating a register of alternatives that deliver reusability, eco rating, recyclability, fire compliance.

3. Arrange print tests and sign-off
